Rules & FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Are Dogs allowed at WIW?
Dogs are welcome members of our community! However, they must be leashed when outside your unit, and their waste picked up. Failure to clean-up after your pet may result in a cleanup charge. No tethering or leaving dogs unattended outside.

I need to get something fixed in my unit. How do I do that?
In the case of a maintenance emergency, please call Kirkpatrick Management Company at (317) 570-4358, 24-hours-a-day.

If the problem is inside the walls of your unit, then you are responsible for fixing the problem. If the problem is electrical, plumbing, or HVAC-related, be sure to hire a licensed professional.

If the problem is outside the walls of your unit, then Maintenance Requests should be made through KMC Connect by the homeowner.

(Log into our FrontSteps site, click My Reservations & Requests on the left, then My Work Orders, then the green + Work Order button on the right.)

Know what the owner's responsibilities are before calling. Please read the Owner/HOA Responsibilities section found under Community Documents.

What safety rules are in place?
The speed limit is 15 mph within WIW. Please keep everyone safe by driving slowly. Many children and adults are on and around the streets of this community.

What safety precautions are strongly encouraged?
Ring doorbells and similar outside cameras are encouraged, as long as they are not aimed at your neighbors. Residents are encouraged to use their garages to park cars overnight. Be sure to remove valuables and lock the doors of any cars left outside.

I want to rent/lease out my home. Is that allowed?
Leasing is permitted after six months of ownership and requires prior written approval by the Board of Directors. Note that no more than 10 rentals are allowed at any given time.  To apply, Log into our FrontSteps site, click Documents, then Forms, then Leasing/Rentals folder.)

AirBnB or VRBO rentals (or short-term leases of less than one year) are not permitted. Units that are for rent may have a display sign in one interior window. No outdoor signs are allowed.

I want to renovate my home. Do I need some sort of approval before I start?
Any interior improvement that is reasonably termed as cosmetic in nature (new paint, flooring, changing of existing fixtures, cabinets, counter tops, etc.) is up to the unit owner’s discretion.

However – because condos have shared walls, roofs and waste systems with adjoining units – any interior renovations that could potentially compromise the health, safety, and value of adjoining units need to be approved by the Association. To see if your plans need approval, start by looking at our Renovations Page. It also has links to the full list of improvements and the Architectural Change Request (ACR) form.

I want to sell my home. Where can I put a sign?
Units that are for sale may have a display sign in one interior window. No exterior signs are allowed. During the day of an Open House, a temporary sign announcing the event may be placed at either entrance on Westfield Boulevard and one temporary sign at the unit.
